  • cup cup heavy whipping cream chilled
  • 0.8 teaspoon kosher salt 
  • 0.3 cup lemon curd store-bought
  • servings lemon zest finely grated
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar light packed ()
  • 0.5 cup blackstrap molasses light ()
  • tablespoon powdered sugar 
  • 0.5 cup butter unsalted cut into 1/2" pieces (1 stick)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat pan withnonstick spray. Line bottom with parchmentpaper; spray paper.
  2. Whisk flour and next5 ingredients in a medium bowl.
  3. Place butterin a large bowl.
  4. Pour 1/2 cup boiling waterover; whisk until melted.
  5. Whisk in sugar andnext 3 ingredients.
  6. Add dry ingredients;whisk to blend.
  7. Transfer to prepared pan.
  8. Bake until a tester inserted into center ofcake comes out clean, about 25 minutes.
  9. Letcool in pan for 10 minutes. Invert onto a wirerack; let cool.
  10. Remove parchment.
  11. Beat cream and sugar in a mediumbowl until firm peaks form. Fold in curd,leaving swirls.
  12. Spread over cake.
  13. Garnishwith zest.
