  • 0.8 teaspoon baking soda 
  • 16 servings citrus glaze 
  • 0.5 cup firmly domino brown sugar light packed
  • cup butter softened
  • cup buttermilk 
  • 0.3 cup crystallized ginger chopped
  • large eggs 
  • cups flour all-purpose
  • 0.5 cup domino granulated sugar 
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • tablespoon ground ginger 
  • slices garnishes: lemon and orange fresh
  • cup blackstrap molasses 
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 35
  2. Grease and flour 2 (8 1/2 - x 4 1/2 -inch) loaf pans.
  3. Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugars, beating until fluffy.
  4. Add molasses; beat until blended.
  5. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating until blended after each addition. Beat in buttermilk until blended.
  6. Combine flour and next 5 ingredients in a large bowl. Gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blended.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  8. Bake at 350 for 50 to 53 minutes or until a long wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire racks 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks, and cool completely (about 1 hour).
  9. Drizzle with Citrus Glaze.
  10. Garnish, if desired.
