  • 0.3 cup butter ()
  • 0.5 cup carrots sliced
  • 0.5 cup celery sliced
  • 0.3 cup flour 
  • Tbsp chives fresh chopped
  • cups milk 
  • 0.3 cup onion chopped
  • dash pepper 
  • cups potatoes chopped
  • tsp salt 
  • cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded kraft
  • cups water cold

Directions

  1. Bring water, vegetables, chives and seasonings to boil in medium saucepan on high heat. Reduce heat to low; cover. Simmer 10 minutes. Do not drain.
  2. Melt butter in large saucepan on low heat. Stir in flour. Cook 2 minutes or until bubbly. Gradually add milk, stirring until well blended. Cook on medium heat until mixture boils and thickens, stirring constantly.
  3. Add cheese; cook until melted, stirring constantly.
  4. Add vegetable mixture; cook until heated through. Do not boil.
