Are you a fan of warm, flaky bread with a spicy twist? Look no further than these delicious Hot Onion Pinwheels! Perfect as a side dish for any occasion, this recipe is designed to serve 12 hungry individuals. With a total preparation time of 130 minutes, it's a great option for those who appreciate a slightly more involved but rewarding baking project.

Each bite offers a delightful mix of flavors and textures, featuring thinly sliced onions cooked in margarine and a hint of crushed red pepper for a spicy kick. The dough is a simple yet delicious blend of active dry yeast, all-purpose flour, and a touch of powdered milk, ensuring a soft and tender base for your savory fillings.

The process begins with a proofing step for the yeast, followed by a kneading session that will have your hands happily molding the dough. Once the dough has risen to double its size, it's time to incorporate the onion and pepper mixture, transforming it into a scrumptious roll-up of flavor. Slicing this into pinwheels and letting them rise one last time before baking ensures each piece is equally delicious.

With a caloric breakdown that leans heavily towards carbs (as expected from a bread-based dish), the Hot Onion Pinwheels offer a balanced mix of protein, fat, and carbohydrates, making them a satisfying side to complement any main course. Whether you're hosting a casual get-together or looking to impress at a dinner party, these pinwheels are sure to be a hit. So why not give them a try and add a spicy twist to your bread game?
