Ingredients

  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper black
  • 0.3 cup butter 
  • cups celery chopped
  • cups mama's corn bread crumbled
  • 1.5 teaspoons rubbed sage dried
  • large egg white 
  • large eggs 
  • cups onion chopped
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • cup saltines crushed ( 20 crackers)
  • cups vegetable broth 
  • cups bread white cubed toasted (1-inch) ( 5 [1-ounce] slices)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 37
  2. Combine first 3 ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Combine the broth, celery, onion, and butter in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Add broth mixture to corn bread mixture, stirring well.
  5. Add sage and next 4 ingredients (sage through egg white); stir well to combine.
  6. Pour the mixture into an 11 x 7-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray.
  7. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes; cover and bake an additional 30 minutes or until golden.
