Indulge your senses with a delightful Mango Tart that beautifully combines tropical flavors with a flaky pastry crust. This exquisite dessert is perfect for any occasion, from summer gatherings to festive celebrations, and is sure to impress your guests with its vibrant presentation and luscious taste.

At the heart of this tart is the luscious mango, a fruit celebrated for its juicy sweetness and rich, tropical aroma. As you peel away the skin and slice the mangoes thinly, you'll appreciate the vibrant colors that create an eye-catching topping that is just as pleasing to the palate as it is to the eyes. The creamy layer of whipped cream cheese and tangy sour cream provides a lovely contrast that complements the mango's sweetness, making each bite a burst of flavor.

What makes this recipe truly special is the use of frozen puff pastry, which ensures a light and airy crust that puffs up beautifully in the oven. Brushed with a hint of egg wash for a golden finish and lightly scored to create a delicate border, the pastry serves as a perfect canvas for the topping. With a preparation time of just 60 minutes, you can easily whip up this tart and treat yourself and your loved ones to an unforgettable dessert experience.

So, gather your ingredients and get ready to create a stunning Mango Tart that will transport your taste buds to a tropical paradise, leaving everyone craving for more!

Ingredients

  • 0.3 cup whipped cream
  • large eggs lightly beaten
  • servings lime zest finely julienned
  • large mangos peeled
  •  puff pastry frozen thawed
  • 0.5 cup cream sour
  • 0.3 cup sugar

Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • oven
  • knife
  • whisk
  • mandoline

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Unfold pastry sheet on a greased baking sheet, then turn over (to prevent creases from splitting during baking). Trim edges with a sharp knife.
  3. Brush pastry lightly with egg (do not allow to drip down sides). Create a 3/4-inch border all around by lightly scoring a line parallel to each edge of pastry (do not cut all the way through). Prick inner rectangle evenly with a fork, then sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar.
  4. Bake in lower third of oven 15 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
  5. Transfer to a rack and cool to room temperature.
  6. Whisk together sour cream, cream cheese, remaining 3 tablespoons sugar, and zest.
  7. Thinly slice mangoes lengthwise with a mandoline or other manual slicer or a sharp knife (be careful because peeled mango is slippery), then halve wide slices lengthwise.
  8. Just before serving, spread cream over inner rectangle of pastry and top with mangoes, folding decoratively.
  9. • Trimming edges of pastry dough allows layers to separate so pastry rises evenly.
