Ingredients

  • 0.3 cup almonds sliced
  • teaspoons double-acting baking powder 
  • 1.5 cups berries mixed fresh (such as blueberries, raspberries and blackberries)
  • 0.3 cup butter softened
  •  eggs 
  • 1.5 cups flour all-purpose
  • 0.8 cup granulated sugar 
  • tablespoons granulated sugar 
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • 0.5 cup milk 
  • teaspoons milk 
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar 
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.3 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350F. Grease and flour bottom and side of 9-inch round cake pan, or spray with baking spray with flour.
  2. In large bowl, beat 3/4 cup granulated sugar, the butter and egg with electric mixer on medium speed until fluffy. Beat in milk just until blended. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Spread batter in pan.
  4. In medium bowl, stir together 2 tablespoons granulated sugar and the cinnamon.
  5. Add berries; toss with cinnamon-sugar mixture until well coated. Spoon berry mixture over batter.
  6. Sprinkle with almonds.
  7. Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.
  8. In small bowl, mix glaze ingredients until smooth and thin enough to drizzle.
  9. Drizzle glaze over warm coffee cake.
  10. Serve warm.
