Ingredients

  • stalk celery chopped
  •  bell pepper green chopped
  • 0.5  onion chopped
  • pound pork sausage sliced
  • 4.5 ounce chicken noodle soup mix 
  • 0.5 cup slivered almonds 
  • cups water hot
  • 0.5 cup rice long grain white uncooked

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium high heat, combine the sausage, onion, celery and green bell pepper and saute for 5 minutes.
  3. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir the dry rice in with the sausage and vegetables, then add the water and the soup mix.
  5. Transfer this mixture to a lightly greased 2 quart casserole dish and top with the almonds.
  6. Bake, covered, at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 90 minutes.
