  • teaspoon double-acting baking powder 
  • 0.3 cup butter cubed
  •  eggs 
  • cup flour all-purpose
  • 0.5 cup milk 
  • tablespoons nuts chopped
  •  pie crust dough (9 inches)
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.3 cup shortening 
  • 0.8 cup sugar 
  • 1.5 ounces baker's chocolate unsweetened
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract 
  • 0.5 cup water

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the water, chocolate and butter to a boil; boil for 1 minute.
  2. Remove from the heat; stir in sugar and vanilla until smooth. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
