Directions

  1. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder.
  2. In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  3. Combine milk and vanilla, and add alternately with flour mixture to egg mixture. Fold in nuts.
  4. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 inch cake pan.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
