  • Tbsp butter 
  • 0.1 tsp pepper red crushed
  • slices oscar mayer deli ham smoked fresh chopped
  • 14.5 oz chicken broth fat-free reduced-sodium canned
  • clove garlic minced
  • oz philadelphia neufchatel cheese cubed softened
  • small onion chopped
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese divided grated kraft
  • cup peas frozen
  • lb penne pasta uncooked

Directions

  1. Melt butter in medium saucepan on medium heat.
  2. Add onions and garlic; cook and stir 3 to 5 min. or until fragrant.
  3. Add broth and crushed pepper; bring to boil.
  4. Whisk in Neufchatel; cook and stir on low heat until Neufchatel is melted and sauce is well blended.
  5. Cook pasta as directed on package just until al dente. Meanwhile, stir peas and 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese into sauce; cook 2 to 3 min. or until slightly thickened.
  6. Drain pasta.
  7. Place in large serving bowl.
  8. Add sauce; toss to coat. Top with ham and remaining Parmesan.
