Pork pies are a delightful savory treat perfect for gatherings, parties, or simply enjoying as a flavorful snack. This recipe yields 24 individual pies, each with a perfectly balanced blend of lean ground pork, aromatic spices, and tender, flaky crust. What makes these pies truly special is the combination of seasoned pork filling with the subtle, buttery pastry, enhanced by hints of garlic, savory, and allspice, creating a rich and comforting flavor that’s both hearty and satisfying.

Despite their impressive appearance, these pork pies are surprisingly straightforward to make and can be ready in about 45 minutes. The process involves cooking the pork filling until it’s tender and fragrant, then enveloping it in a homemade dough made with a mix of all-purpose flour, cold butter, and vegetable shortening to achieve that perfect golden crust. Baking the pies in muffin liners ensures they hold their shape beautifully, making them an ideal finger food that's easy to serve and eat.

To elevate the experience, these pies are traditionally paired with spicy tomato cranberry preserves, adding a sweet and tangy contrast that complements the savory filling perfectly. Whether you’re preparing a large batch for a festive occasion or treating your family to a delicious homemade appetizer, these pork pies are guaranteed to impress. Plus, the filling can be made ahead of time, making the assembly and baking even more convenient for busy cooks.
