Ingredients

  • tablespoons light-colored corn syrup 
  • 1.5 pound flank steak lean
  • 1.5 ounce hamburger buns 
  • teaspoon hot sauce 
  • cup catsup reduced-calorie
  • tablespoon mustard prepared
  • 0.3 cup red wine vinegar 
  • teaspoon worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. Trim fat from steak.
  2. Combine steak and next 6 ingredients (steak through hot sauce) in a large zip-top plastic bag. Seal bag; marinate in refrigerator 8 hours, turning bag occasionally.
  3. Remove steak from bag, reserving marinade.
  4. Prepare grill or broiler.
  5. Place steak on grill rack or broiler pan coated with cooking spray; grill or broil 8 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness. Slice steak diagonally across grain into thin strips. Set aside; keep warm.
  6. Pour reserved marinade through a sieve into a small microwave-safe bowl; cover with plastic wrap. Microwave at high 5 minutes or until marinade boils. Divide steak evenly among bottom halves of buns; top each with 2 tablespoons marinade and top half of bun.
  7. Garnish with olives, if desired.
