Ingredients

  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper red crushed
  • 0.5 cup fennel bulb vertically sliced
  • ounce turkey sausage sweet italian
  • 0.3 teaspoon kosher salt 
  • 1.5 teaspoons olive oil 
  • 0.5 cup thinly onion red vertically sliced ( 1 small onion)
  • ounce parmigiano-reggiano cheese fresh grated
  • 10 inch basic pizza dough 
  • 0.7 cup tomatoes seeded chopped ( 2 tomatoes)

Equipment

  • oven
  • spatula
  • pizza stone

Directions

  1. Position an oven rack in lowest setting.
  2. Place a pizza stone on lowest rack.
  3. Preheat oven to 50
  4. Preheat pizza stone 30 minutes before baking pizza.
  5. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Add pepper to pan; cook 10 seconds.
  7. Remove casings from sausage.
  8. Add sausage, fennel, and onion to pan; saut 4 minutes or until browned, stirring to crumble sausage. Stir in salt.
  9. Add tomato; saut 2 minutes or until tender.
  10. Remove from heat.
  11. Spread sausage mixture over Basic Pizza Dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border. Slide dough onto preheated pizza stone, using a spatula as a guide.
  12. Bake at 500 for 8 minutes or until crust is golden.
  13. Remove from pizza stone.
  14. Sprinkle with cheese.
  15. Cut pizza into 8 wedges.
