  • inch ginger fresh minced grated
  • tablespoons thyme sprigs fresh chopped
  • cloves garlic chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  •  juice of lime juiced
  • servings pepper black freshly ground
  • servings nutmeg freshly grated
  •  onion chopped
  • servings toppings: such as pickles chopped for garnish
  • servings spring onion chopped for garnish
  •  portugese rolls split soft
  • tablespoon paprika smoked sweet
  • cup tomato sauce 
  • pounds pd of ground turkey lean
  • tablespoons vegetable oil 
  • tablespoon worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil ripples and is hot, add the meat and brown.
  2. Add the onions, chile, bell pepper, garlic and salt and pepper, to taste. Stir in the paprika, ginger, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, thyme and cilantro. Stir occasionally for 8 to 10 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl combine the vinegar, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, and tomato sauce. Stir the sauce into the turkey mixture. Simmer for a few minutes, then serve on rolls with a garnish of scallions, chopped pickles, and chopped cilantro.
