  • 14.5 ounce canned tomatoes diced canned
  • 0.1 teaspoon pepper red crushed
  • 0.3 cup cooking wine dry red
  • 0.5 cup basil fresh chopped
  •  garlic cloves minced
  • 0.8 pound ground round 
  • tablespoon olive oil 
  • cup onion finely chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • ounces pasta like spaghetti uncooked
  • 0.8 teaspoon sugar 
  • tablespoons tomato paste

Directions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt and fat.
  2. Combine beef, onion, and garlic in a large saucepan, and cook over medium-high heat until browned, stirring to crumble.
  3. Drain well. Wipe drippings from pan with a paper towel; return meat mixture to pan.
  4. Stir in tomatoes and next 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 25 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat; stir in basil, olive oil, and salt. Cover and let stand 5 minutes before serving.
  6. Serve over pasta.
