Ingredients

  • 0.3 cup oatmeal cornflakes plain dry (or bread crumbs)
  • cup elbow macaroni 
  • tablespoons flour all-purpose
  • 0.3 teaspoon garlic powder 
  • ounces cream cheese reduced-fat
  • cups milk low-fat
  • ounces cheddar cheese shredded reduced-fat ( 2 cups total)
  • 0.3 teaspoon mustard 
  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper 
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • cup multigrain elbow macaroni whole-wheat
  • dash worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain well.
  2. Preheat oven to 350F. Mist a 2 1/2-quart baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. Warm milk in a large saucepan over medium heat. Gradually add flour, whisking steadily until combined.
  4. Add mustard, garlic powder, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Continue cooking until sauce thickens, stirring constantly.
  5. Reduce heat to low.
  6. Whisk in cream cheese until well blended; add 1 1/3cups shredded Cheddar and stir until melted.
  7. Add macaroni, stirring until well coated.
  8. Pour into baking dish.
  9. Toss remaining Cheddar with cornflake crumbs and sprinkle evenly over top.
  10. Bake until golden on top and bubbling throughout, about 20minutes.
