Ingredients

  • slices bacon 
  • servings basil fresh
  • tablespoon butter 
  • 0.3 cup flour all-purpose
  • tablespoon basil fresh chopped
  • cups ears corn fresh ( 6 ears)
  •  garlic clove finely chopped
  • 1.5 cups half and half 
  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper 
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.5  onion finely chopped

Directions

  1. Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp; remove bacon, and drain on paper towels, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon, and set aside.
  2. Saut onion and garlic in hot drippings 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in corn; cook 5 to 7 minutes or until golden.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Cook flour in a large clean skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes or until golden. Gradually whisk in half-and-half until smooth.
  5. Add corn mixture, salt, and pepper; cook 5 minutes or until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat; stir in butter and basil.
  7. Sprinkle each serving with bacon, and garnish, if desired.
